It’s been nearly two years since I left Charleston, but I still have a soft spot for the city — and I’m still pitching stories about it. For this Draft Magazine article, I wrote about some of the Holy City’s best beer destinations, including Closed for Business (pictured above).
Long before I moved to Richmond, I knew I wanted to write for Richmond Magazine. It’s a beautiful publication and a great resource for anyone who lives in the city. So I was excited to get my first story published in the magazine in January, and I’ve been contributing every month since. The photo above is from my article on shopping with chefs, where I tagged along with chefs to find out how they buy groceries. I’ve also written about chefs using winter citrus and a wacky new place called GWARbar.
I started regularly blogging for the Design section of Paste several months ago. Most of the posts are pretty short newsy blurbs, like this one about Wes Anderson posters, and this one about a special edition of Field Notes. And then, inspired by some of my friends who are new parents, I pitched a little round-up of stuffed animals that even adults would love. It turned out to be one of the section’s most popular stories from the last six months. Check it out right here.
